I don't know)Īnother side question: Is 47c too high? This is actually why I am asking the main question - I am concerned that this one drive that isn't getting the benefit of the extra fan may still cause the computer to bluescreen. Here’s how you’ll get started: Open the Windows Taskbar at the lower left corner of your screen. We recommend the Windmill 752-RTD package for RTD temperature measurement. Software like Windmill automatically converts the resistance measurement to a temperature in your choice of engineering units. Converting the Resistance to a Temperature. Side question: Am I right in thinking 55c was far too hot for a HDD? (It might have got higher than that before the bluescreens. Using Ohms law the value of the resistance of the RTD can be calculated. If the computer bluescreens I can load it up again and check the last entry in the file. I want something that can record all the temps to a file at 30 seconds intervals. I have tried Everest but it only shows me realtime temps or gives me the ability to create one-off reports. I haven't had the PC on for as long as it would normally take to bluescreen yet, but If it does I want to know what all the temps were right before the bluescreen. Especially the HDDs - three of them reach 30c and one has been up to 47c (it is some distance away from the airflow, in one of the 5.25inch drive bays) Since then, obviously, all my temps are down. I've installed a spare fan I had in the front of the PC blowing air in, (so there's airflow from front to back) I thought the 55c was ok, but I have since realized it was probably too high and may have been the direct cause of the bluescreening. ![]() HDDs - aprox 55c after the PC had been on a while. GPU - arpox 60 idle, aprox 90 during heavy use. I tried lots of things (check hds, check memory, reinstall windows etc.) but it still bluescreened. I have a Win10 partition and when I game on it the computer gets quite hot, but never shuts down. so I thought that I need a log of the temperature just before the "crash" or "shutdown" or whatever this problematic behaviour is called I want a way to KNOW if it is a temperature problem. It just should not happenīut at times the machine doesn't feel hot at all. look at my hardware in the signature, and think about games like Kathy Rain, Technobabylon, Anachronox, etc. I'm asking because almost every time I run a videogame, the computer shuts down automatically. I've found references to sensord but it appears unavailable since Ubuntu 16, and I'm running 18.04. Is there a way to have an app running in background that keeps constant logs of the system temperatures?

![]() When this is NOT ticked, things tend to go into the AppData directory of the administrative account installing things. Some confusion comes into play on installation locations based on how a user ticks a box upon running the installer. As I don’t have Sonic 2 I don’t currently have a way of overcoming this. In another thread someone suggested that Halion 3 does not install all bits of older versions, e.g. ![]() I guess I am asking if anyone knows an appropriate file location for the presets and for the sounds themselves so that they become visible to Halion. I thought I knew what I was doing when it comes to daws and software but I have now had three goes at this and it has me beat. In my appdata folder the two groups appear in different VST folders, one in the Content VST folder, the other in the Halion VST folder.Įven more confusingly the additional VST content appears under C: program data Steinberg etc. In Library Manager I can see the file pathways and have tried moving locations but to no effect. In Library Manager these show as ‘Installed’. ![]() Some instruments such as World Percussion don’t appear in Halion at all. In Library Manager these show up in the ‘Managed’ list. Instruments such as Skylab, Hot Brass and the like are visible within Halion but with no available presets and obviously they don’t load. All licensed and recognised and works as a VST plugin should. Installed Halion 3 for use as a VST plugin in a non-Steinberg sequencer. Not sure about anything else.Well I have read all the other posts I could find on this and I am still utterly confused. Dorico, HALion libraries that ship with it, and at least one version of HSSE for sure. Speaking of the new system, I honestly don’t know what all is on it yet. Keys on the dongle should still work at that version and older (sometimes people want to roll back to older versions that won’t be supported by the new licenser system). You retain your dongle key as well but it changes to say (not upgradable) or something like that, and that product should also show up under the new system. If you update something to the new system, you’ll need the dongle plugged in to do the update. Make sure your dongle is plugged in and the latest eLicenser is installed (running Steinberg Assistant should do all that automatically for you?). Once it’s on a dongle it cannot be moved to a soft eLicenser (though it can be moved to a different dongle). I’ve also read the suggested article on eLicenser upgrades but my issue is that none of my licenses are on a Soft eLicenser - they are all on the Dongle and i can’t figure out why or how to move them over? Steinberg Licensing: Upgrades from eLicenser-based products – Steinberg Support It might be worth it (if you don’t have Dorico 4 already) to grab the free Dorico SE version, as that’d get you a key for a free SE player that’s off the dongle.ĭorico SE: Free music notation software | Steinberg Not sure what all is going on, but I suspect it’s about needing to register HSSE under the new system as well. Rolling back to v3.4 should put you on a version that still uses the old dongle or soft eLicencer system.ģ.5 is working fine for me with Cubase 11 Pro, but I also happen to have Dorico 4 Pro on the machine. I’m ‘guessing’ v3.5 is based on the newer licensing system that doesn’t require a dongle or soft licenser. I’m not sure what version you get from the free SE link (if it uses the new licenser system or the old), but it might be worth a try to grab and install. Strategies in 2048 include keeping the largest tile in a specific corner with other large tiles filling the row (either vertically or horizontally). When the player has no legal moves (there are no empty spaces and no adjacent tiles with the same value), the game ends. Players can continue beyond that to reach higher scores. The game is won when a tile with a value of 2048 appears on the board. The user's score starts at zero, and is increased whenever two tiles combine, by the value of the new tile. A scoreboard on the upper-right keeps track of the user's score. If all four spaces in a row or column are filled with tiles of the same value, a move parallel to that row/column will combine the first two and last two. If a move causes three consecutive tiles of the same value to slide together, only the two tiles farthest along the direction of motion will combine. Higher-scoring tiles emit a soft glow the largest possible tile is 131,072. The resulting tile cannot merge with another tile again in the same move. If two tiles of the same number collide while moving, they will merge into a tile with the total value of the two tiles that collided. Tiles slide as far as possible in the chosen direction until they are stopped by either another tile or the edge of the grid. The game begins with two tiles already in the grid, having a value of either 2 or 4, and another such tile appears in a random empty space after each turn. The 2048 tile is in the bottom-right corner.Ģ048 is played on a plain 4×4 grid, with numbered tiles that slide when a player moves them using the four arrow keys. The game received generally positive reviews from critics, with it being described as "viral" and "addictive". The release of 2048 resulted in the rapid appearance of many similar games, akin to the flood of Flappy Bird variations from 2013. Cirulli himself described 2048 as being "conceptually similar" to Threes. ![]() Despite all the complexities that go into formulating and measuring the sound pressure level, it still lacks a direct correlation with how the human ear actually perceives the loudness of sound. Not all sound pressures are equally loud. Filters can be used by the meters to measure specific bands of sound wave pressure by honing in on specific frequencies within a larger soundscape. Finally, the read out panel displays the average sound pressure levels for the environment being analyzed. ![]() The output amplifier then converts the weak sound signal to a level adequate to display on the read out panel. That electrical charge is then converted by the input amplifier into a voltage that, once processed by the electrical circuitry, is converted into a sound pressure level (SPL). The microphone converts fluctuating air pressure produced by a sound source into a fluctuating electrical charge. However, all meters consist of four basic components: microphone, input amplifier, output amplifier, and a read out device. There are various types of Sound Level Meters available, some with more precision and versatility. In more detailed terms, the decibel is a logarithmic way of expressing a ratio between sound pressure or intensity, though it may measure other factors such as power or voltage.ĭecibel measurements are obtained by using an instrument called the Sound Level Meter. Today, the decibel is the most convenient way to convey the intensity of a sound level in the environment. In 1928, Bell Telephone Laboratories coined the new unit of measurement, calling it the bel, in honor of telecommunications pioneer Alexander Graham Bell. The unit of measure was derived from the methods used to quantify signal loss in telegraph and telephone circuits. The decibel (abbreviated dB) is an expression of the loudness or intensity of sound.
